About Bluesphere Digital

Bluesphere Digital is a SaaS studio that acts as an outsourced technical co-founder for founders building software products. We run three engagement types: a one-week Discovery Sprint, a production MVP build that ships in 8–12 weeks, and an ongoing fractional-CTO retainer. Clients own 100% of the code and intellectual property from day one, and equity is optional rather than required. We work remotely from Australia with founders worldwide.

What we are, precisely

We take software products for founders from an unvalidated idea to something running in production — and then help operate them.

What we do is narrow on purpose. We are not a design agency, not a staffing firm, and not a general-purpose consultancy.

In practice that means we will tell you when a request sits outside what we do and point you somewhere better, rather than quoting for it.

Why the studio exists

The founders we work with usually have the two things hardest to acquire: domain expertise and a real commercial problem. What they are missing is the hardest thing to hire — a technical counterpart they trust.

The conventional options are poor.

Search for a technical co-founder

Can absorb a year, and produces a governance decision made under time pressure.

Hire a full-time CTO early

Costs salary and equity for a role whose critical decisions are infrequent.

Engage an agency

Bills by the hour, with no stake in whether the product works.

The studio model exists to sit between those: senior technical ownership, fixed scope, and terms that leave the founder holding everything at the end.

It also fixes an incentive problem. Billing by the hour rewards duration. Billing by the milestone rewards delivery. Be suspicious of any arrangement where the supplier is better off when the work takes longer.

How we work

Every engagement runs through the same three phases, and each one ends in a real decision point rather than a rollover.

Discovery Sprint

Produces a validated problem statement, a prioritised MVP scope, a technical architecture and a working proof-of-concept, plus a costed timeline. Read more

MVP Build

Fixed scope, with a working demo at every milestone and payment released against accepted work. Read more

Ongoing Retainer

Continuous development and fractional CTO support, month to month. Read more

A founder can stop after any phase and take everything with them.

Most agency relationships are structured so that stopping is awkward. Ours are structured so that stopping is normal — which makes continuing a choice you re-make, not a default you drift into.

What we hold ourselves to

  • You own everything. 100% of code, designs, documentation and infrastructure configuration, from day one, with repository access throughout rather than at handover.
  • Fixed scope, milestone billing. Scope and milestones agreed before work starts; payment released against delivered and accepted work, never open-ended hours.
  • Working software at every milestone. A demo you can use, not a status report.
  • Equity is optional. Available where there is genuine alignment, always alongside fees, never a condition.
  • Stack chosen per product. A default we know well, and no objection to working inside a stack you already have.

What we can show

ProfileIQ is our own SaaS product, live at profileiq.ai: AI resume intelligence for job seekers and recruiters, taken from concept through architecture, build and launch, and operated by us in production today.

Client engagements are under NDA and are not described on this site — no names, no screenshots, and no phrasing designed to imply detail we cannot give. That is a real limit on what this site can prove.

It is why ProfileIQ matters disproportionately: it is a product you can open, use and judge for yourself without taking anything here on trust.

Alongside it we publish engineering notes on how we build the classes of system we are asked about most. We can go deeper on architecture and delivery on a call, under your own NDA.

Where we are

Bluesphere Digital is a remote studio operating from Australia and working with founders worldwide.

There is no walk-in office. The fastest route to a person is the contact page, a direct email to hello@bluesphere-digital.com, or a call booked in the calendar linked there. We are also on LinkedIn.

We answer enquiries ourselves, not through an account manager. Most collaboration is asynchronous and written, with calls reserved for decisions that genuinely need one. The honest trade-off against a local studio: fewer meetings, more written reasoning you can go back and read.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the ideal client for Bluesphere Digital?

Bluesphere Digital works best with three kinds of client. Non-technical founders with deep domain expertise who need a technical counterpart to turn it into software. Established businesses productising an internal tool into a SaaS product. And teams that need senior technical leadership without a full-time CTO hire.

The engagements we decline are equally specific: price-first procurement, staff augmentation where engineers are interchangeable capacity, and tactical fixes with no product strategy behind them. We work on strategic, long-term partnerships rather than quick hack builds.

Can I see examples of your work?

Yes. ProfileIQ, our own AI SaaS product, is live at profileiq.ai and you can use it today. It is the build we can show end to end: concept, architecture, launch, and day-to-day production. Client engagements are under NDA and are not described on this site — no names, no screenshots, no engagement details, and no phrasing designed to imply them.

What we publish instead are engineering notes on how we build the classes of system we are asked about most. We are happy to go deeper on a call, under your own NDA if you prefer.

Do you take equity in projects?

Only where there is genuine alignment, and always alongside development fees rather than instead of them. We take a minority position when we expect to be involved with the product well beyond the initial build, and want a share in the long-term upside.

Equity is never a requirement. The standard engagements are a fixed-scope Discovery Sprint, a fixed-scope MVP build, and a monthly retainer, all paid in cash. Founders who would rather keep their cap table clean are not treated differently.
